Soulnote is a Japanese high-end audio brand by CSR, Inc., headquartered in Kanagawa. Guided by Chief Sound Manager Hideki Kato, the brand was shaped by decades of experience in both analog and digital audio design. Soulnote challenges conventional engineering approaches that prioritize static measurement performance, instead focusing on what truly matters in music playback—how sound is experienced over time.

At the core of Soulnote’s philosophy is the pursuit of “dynamic performance,” emphasizing accuracy along the time axis and the natural flow of musical energy. Design decisions—including circuit architecture, component selection, and mechanical construction—are determined primarily through critical listening rather than numerical specifications. Through this listening-driven approach, Soulnote develops integrated amplifiers, pre-amplifiers, power amplifiers, SACD players, DACs, and transports that aim to preserve the vitality and emotional depth embedded in every recording.
